Kanyemba Lodge offers excellent views of the Zambezi River and the surrounding area. It is an ideal place to relax and savour the scenery in privacy.
Just two and a half hours drive from Lusaka to kanyemba and you will be guaranteed of a full relaxation in the comfortable, peaceful and quite environment. The Lodge is conveniently located on the shores of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
Staying at the Kanyemba Lodge gives you the opportunity to put your angling skills and tiger fishing to the maximum. It is a great tiger fishing destination. Game lovers can also enjoy the numerous species of bird and wildlife that abounds in Lower Zambezi Park.
So how do you get to the lodge?
From Lusaka you drive on Kafue road and travel 146 km through Kafue town to Chirundu and turn left at the old customs building where there is a sign pointing to Chiawa Estates.
From, here you should continue on the dirt road for 12km till you reach the pontoon across the Kafue River. Upon crossing the pontoon keep right where the road forks, and go for another for 11 Km until you see the "Kanyemba Lodge" sign on the right and you are there.
The lodge has 6 stone and thatch “rondavel” chalets, each with their own large private deck overlooking the Zambezi River, full en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
There is also a Family Chalet which includes three suites – each with their own private entrance and en-suite bathrooms, but sharing a large deck area.
En-suite bathrooms include state-of-the-art fittings and bright mirror lighting. All chalets have 220V electricity (mains with full generator backup).
Overlooking the river, the restaurant and bar allow spacious & relaxed dining. Meanwhile upstairs, guests can relax and enjoy the extensive library and lounge with a view across the river – the perfect space to while away the afternoon!
There is a swimming pool situated on the banks of the river, with built-in benches that allow a retreat from the hotter hours of the day.
You will also be taken to Kanyemba Island, where you will go on a game walk with one of the experienced guides and be able to see birds, herbivores such as bushbuck, waterbuck, and even elephant.
