Sioma Ngwezi Park is the third largest Park in Zambia and covers an area of 5000 square kilometres. Previously heavily poached, the Park is now recovering as can be seen in the increasing numbers of wildlife.
Sioma Ngwezi is full of game species which includes a variety of bird species, hyena, giraffe, impala, cheetah, wild dog, sable, roan, zebra, kudu, duiker, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, lion and leopard. Sioma Ngwezi National Park is also home to over 3000 elephants.
Sioma Camp offers game walks, game drives and birding safaris in Sioma Ngwezi. Apart from game viewing, Tiger fishing on the mighty Zambezi River is also popular. Another attraction is the Ngonye Falls. Although the Ngonye Falls cannot rival the Victoria Falls in height, the volume of water pouring down is second only to the Victoria Falls.
The Sioma Camp is a relatively new camp in the hospitality business in Zambia. Some distance from the main camp (Sioma River Camp), is the Sioma Bush Camp, which is located about 25 kilometers from the Sioma Falls.
Sioma Camp, as an eco-tourism camp sees to it that minimal ecological and other form of damage is done to areas being visited. It offers the following accommodation alternatives; these are the Sioma River Camp (with a Self-catering campsite available) and the Sioma Bush Camp.
