Currently, the head office of the newspaper is on Longolongo road in Lusaka.
It was not until the early 1960's that it changed its name to the Central African Mail during the time when it was under Dr Alexander Scott.
In 1965 this Newspaper was bought by the government of Zambia. Then it was published weekly but by 1970 it became a daily edition, hence "The Daily Mail" as it is presently called. Like the Post Newspapers, in order to widen the scope of coverage, the sister newspaper, the Sunday Mail which comes out on Sunday was introduced.
The newspaper has several features like business news, targeting business oriented people, local news and also sports news which is usually found on the back page targeting sports lovers.
Unlike the post newspaper, the daily mail is the government’s paper, and therefore strives to promote Government programs.
The Daily Mail is currently being offered worldwide on a daily basis on the internet and is operating under the motto; "Serve The Nation Without Fear Or Favour!"
