“A Zambezi Gem!”
“So peaceful sitting on the porch or bench, watching the Zambezi River moving slowly along, with the sounds of hippos and little else. I went in January, and mosquitoes were not a problem at all, as the river keeps the area cool and breezy, so the air is fresh & rejuvenating. Joseph was a wonderful guide! He is from the area, very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was wonderful. It was convenient that Kayube handled all transportation & trips for me in one place, I felt much taken care of traveling alone. I enjoyed cooking, as we stopped in town for groceries, and the estate has several basic items like salt & pepper, butter, oil, eggs as well. Definitely checkout some of the quality crafts shops, especially the stalls near the Falls, I got many beautiful pieces to take home at reasonable but fair prices. The falls are amazing of course, and the African Queen cruise was relaxing, and we saw tons of awesome hippos and baboons. My spirit was truly invigorated by my restful stay at Kayube, and I left feeling relaxed, and that peaceful feeling came back home with me as well.!”
“Holiday of a lifetime.”
“Kayube Estate is around 40 minutes away from the Falls by car - quite a drive, but worth it for the tranquility and setting on the banks of the Zambezi. The hostess, Karien, was fabulous, booking any excursions we wanted to do, letting us use her jeep for a very reasonable fee to get around. We had unfortunately booked to fly to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe rather than Livingstone, Zambia, which would have been easier, but still the airport transfer worked well, though it did require swapping cars and lots of border controls. The bungalow itself does not have wifi - you have to go to reception, but that made the holiday even more special - a true family holiday with no distractions. The pool is great. As is the garden, with loads of space for football, hide and seek etc. etc. Kitchen is very well equipped, and our airport transfer driver, Joseph, stopped off at the supermarket on the way, so we could stock up. Kayube Estate even has their own boat, so we could enjoy our own private sun downer cruise along the Zambezi, which was a real highlight, and far more reasonably priced than the ones from the Falls! The staff were all great, and the house was kept spick and span (even the washing up done) more than once a day, which made it a much more relaxing self-catered holiday. From our terrace we saw crocodiles and hippos, and sunsets and sunrises which were second to none.”
“Absolute value for money.”
“The best location, comfortable and clean place to stay.”
“The place is part of heaven. Definitely recommend. A quiet stay in bank of Zambezi River with beautiful sounds of birds and hippos in early morning is waiting for you. The property has been taken care of properly. Thanks to the tram of motivated staff. The kitchen was very well equipped so you can feel at home.”
“I recommend and have been recommending this place to friends, co-workers and family.”
“We are living temporarily in South Africa as US Expats and have been looking for something special, and boy, we got it. Customer service was the best I have seen including the best hotels anywhere in the US and Europe. When we needed groceries, they brought what we wanted and quickly. And nothing beats barbequing while watching Hippos and Crocs only 60 feet away! Activities? Yes, they organized river safaris, canoe trips, quad bikes, a dinner cruise and they were great value for money. My wife and I are very picky about cleanliness but wow, we were impressed. Not only the house was clean and well kept, the whole Estate was well kept and maintained. What you see in the pictures about Kayube do not do justice to what you will actually see.”
“Amazing experience. Will come back again if we have chance!”
“I would advise this place for family or honeymooners. This place keeps in your mind forever.”
“Perfect, clean, relaxing, friendly & with a fantastic view!”
“Our chalet was right by the river and we woke up to animals drinking water on the other side of the river. It was absolutely amazing. The staff were always on hand and the manager was very helpful through our stay.”
