Nkamba Bay Lodge gives the visitor unequalled surroundings in which to enjoy excellent views of Lake Tanganyika.
A combination of Nkamba Bay and Lake Tanganyika offer attractive range of activities to the visitor. You can relax and watch the sunset on the waters of one of the longest and second deepest freshwater lake in the world.
Located on the shores of this beautiful Lake, guests are not only restricted to lake viewing, but are also offered a lot of water activities and facilities which include the following:
It should be noted that no regular transport system exists between Mpulungu and Nkamba Bay Lodge but transfers by boat from Mpulungu to the lodge are available.
The Lodge has nine chalets, each with its own private balcony overlooking the lake.
Because of its location, most activities at the Lodge are centred on the lake. You can also enjoy game viewing and birding in the Nsumbu National Park or try out your angling skills on Lake Tanganyika.
Lake Tanganyika is located in the northern province of Zambia and it’s shared by Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tanzania and Zambia. But only 7 percent of its surface area is within Zambia. Lake Tanganyika is home to more than 350 different species of fish and fishing is the main economic activity.
Nsumbu National Park is also home to big game like buffalos, elephants and hippos. Sightings of leopard and lion are not rare.
The Park is also home to bushbuck, warthog, puku, roan, sable, eland, hartebeest, zebra, duiker, crocodiles, antelope, sitatunga, hyena, side-striped jackal, serval, impala, waterbuck and reedbuck.
